Description
The Casio CZ series brought phase distortion synthesis to a price point ordinary musicians could reach, which is why it turned up on so many records in the mid-80s. Eurythmics and Erasure were both fans. It has a glassy, slightly brittle character that no analogue synth quite reproduces.
33 sounds sampled from the CZ-V and pre-formatted for the OP-1 and OP-1 Field — bells, plucks, hollow basses and the metallic pads the format does better than anything else.
